Course Description
Didactics and EFL is a course planned for practitioners who wish to reflect about the teaching and learning of English as a foreign language. This course has been planned to raise teachers’ awareness about the didactics and the elements implied in the EFL class, and the use of materials and teaching aids. In order to make learning a meaningful process, cooperative and experiential learning, and participation will be a most.
Course Objective
Learners will reflect about the English as a Foreign Language teaching and learning process by analyzing the methodological and theoretical principles established by the foreign language didactics with 70% of accuracy.
Specific objectives
a. Learners will analyse the principles that describes the interaction among the different elements that intervene in the process of teaching and learning.
b. Learners will identify and reflect about the characteristics that define a foreign language learner and teacher, and their impact in the class planning.
c. Learners will plan a class that covers with the elements that respond to their teaching context and needs.
d. Learners will evaluate the relevance of the selection and use of supplementary materials and teaching aids in the EFL Classroom.

Course Policy
- 80% attendance is required.
- Assignments or task products should be handed in on time.
- Assignments or task should cover with all requirements demanded.
Course Evaluation
The following table show in details the activities and tasks considered in the course scoring. The score for each activity or task depends on the quality of the result obtained. The minimum passing score is 70.
