Fritjof Capra comienza y finaliza su obra “Las conexiones ocultas. Implicaciones sociales, medioambientales, económicas y biológicas de una nueva visión del mundo” con Vàclav Havel. En concreto, arranca su libro con estas palabras:

The "spring revolt" in Prague was suppressed in 1968 by the troops of the Warsaw-pact, but later Czechoslovakia was liberated: the pencil of Vaclav Havel destroyed hammer and sickle - this was called the "velvet-revolution".

Capra finaliza su ensayo en la página 337 con el texto de Havel:
